Violence comes easier to me then love. I know why it does, but the fact still doesn't sit well with me. Just something else to work on, I guess.

Characters

Character development. Some of them you'll recognize, most of them character's that'll be implemented within the next draft. Which is happening right now. In real time. Wow.

The Paragon

He was lost in a world he didn’t comprehend, stuck with ideals that couldn’t translate to the people around him. There was disgust in him, and it turned to anger, then to pity. There was a great civilization here once. Something laid waste to it, he understood that. But there was no reason why they couldn’t rebuild it. Construct a new world, one of order, one that learned from old mistakes that cost millions their lives and forge a utopia the likes of which earth had never seen. but they were ignorant. They were no better then the scouraged dogs that cannibalized each other in desperation. And even with all this. the apathy that creeped into his inner being, he couldn’t turn his back on them. He was a robot. It was what he was built for. He would protect the humans until they killed him or finished each other. He couldn’t struggle against fate.

The Weapon

He saw the flower and picked it. He wanted a friend. Saw the birds flying above him and chased after them. They weren’t interested in being his friend. He stepped on the anthill and tried to build another one for them. He saw so much, understood so little, and yet he was content. He was learning. The world was his teacher, and its instruction was simple: have fun. He saw the humans and tried to walk amongst them. They were different from the birds. They weren’t so simple. They definitely weren’t boring.  He liked the customs, the words they spoke, the way they interacted with each other. And they were all so different...he wondered what he could learn if he walked among them. Maybe he could find someone else to play with. Flowers wilted and died after they were picked. Birds just flew away. But a human friend would be amazing.

The Technician

She figured if she kept running, she’d leave her troubles behind. Or she’d collapse in the desert and be eaten alive by the dogs. Another method of getting away from everything. She couldn’t see the beauty anymore. Her grandfather showed her beauty. Kit showed her beauty. The world showed her misery. Every night she stepped over a body. Everyone now and again, the body would still be breathing. It was easier to live with the dead. They were gone. Nothing anyone could do about it. But every time she heard the labored breathing of a man dying from a beating, heard his pathetic croaking for help, her stomach twisted and turned hot. Then she reminded her self that she was no hero, and she kept moving.  She wondered where all the beauty went. Why her grandfather left. Why she left home. Why was she still alive. All she wanted was to see the beauty in life, just once more. She wanted a reason to live.

The Businessman

There was something about the sound of coins clinking against coins. Lots of coins clinking against coins. Or the sound of bills being counted. It was intoxicating. It was power. Money was power. He could buy anyone on the planet ten times over and still having enough to fill a shack to the ceiling. But all that was....insignificant to him. He didn’t want power, though he didn’t mind it. He collected money the way children collected rocks. it was a hobby. A game. How much could he shave off the top before his partners realized he was cheating them? How much could he pull out of a deal before the other party smartened up? How many friends would he gain once they knew how rich he truly was? No one was his friend when he was eating rotted meat out of trash cans, puking it up hours later. And no one was his friend now. They were all pawns in his game, arranged on a board to create the greatest cash flow possible. More dollars and coins to add to his collection.

The Nihilist Swordsman

The world was the way it was meant to be. That is what he believed. The roles people played where the roles they were meant to play. That is what he believed. The corruption was there because it was meant to be there. That it was he believed. And he struck down those he considered worthy to stain his sword with their blood because he want to be a destroyer. That wasn’t what he believed. That was what he knew. The blood of reptiles mingled with the blood of humans in his veins. He was the amalgam that was never meant to exist. But he did, because he was meant to exist. To be a part of the painting fate created. Paintings were eternal, the way they are is the way they will always be. The paintings fate had of him must’ve been a great mass of red, him standing in the midst of it. He would destroy until he was destroyed. That was his fate. That was how it was meant to be.

The Politician

He found a book one day, a strange book. It talked of men ruling men, leaders who were respected and feared. Kings of the ancient era, presidents of the old democracy, Prime Ministers of Eden who controlled everything in a glorified monarchy. They were supposed to be the ones that lead the people into prosperity, the ones that kept a country safe through their judgment. The world he lived in was the opposite of prosperous. There was nothing there, no order, no justice for the weak. Madmen ran the streets and controlled everything. His father had been forced out of his own business because someone else was being selfish. And no one did a thing. Too afraid to stand up for themselves. It all began to sicken him. He needed to do something. Needed to create a world were everything was fair.  But first he needed to convince people he could. He needed to inspire them. It wasn’t that hard. His words were luring. he was confident in an age where men were more likely to despair. He drew them in. He made them believe. And he delivered. Cleaned up the streets of his own town. It wasn’t perfect. They needed more food, more space, a school to teach the children. But it was something. It was the beginning. It was the beginning of his plan. To repeat the process everywhere he went. He would be the one that brought Eden back to its former glory.

The Infiltrator

She found her life ironic. She had spent her childhood desperate to be seen, starving for attention. Now her life depended on her being a ghost. She could only think of three people who had ever seen her face clearly since she became an infiltrator. Two of them were targets. One was a man she loved. Her current target. In her past life she would’ve been distraught at the idea of killing the one person she could spend the rest of her life with and not want for more. She had gone to great lengths to make herself colder. Not so cold that she became inhuman. Just cold enough to know when business overrode her own desires. Parts of her screamed despite her efforts to quiet them. She hated her contract, hated the way she signed her life over to a person she couldn’t look upon without waves of nausea running through her body. But life was cruel like that. An obstacle no greater then a stone in the road can seem like a mountain from the right perspective. One becomes rash, acts without thinking. Ruins himself. She chuckled. Her master’s words ringing through her head. What did he know. His death put her in the place she was in.

The World Is Ending (Part One)

This is the thingy I'm working on. I'm not sure whether I should call this the second or third draft. Either way comments would be nice. Second part should be coming within a week or two, depending on the amount of time I spend just looking at the keyboard with a blank mind. Hope you like it n' shit.

i have no life my existence is nothing i am merely a dream i dwell in your head and feast on your anxiety and when you feel joy i am enraged a wretch like you should never feel joy only pain lay down and die lay down and die

In his dream he stood between two mountains, staring into the wilderness beyond them. He could hear them calling out to him, calling out for his flesh. They only wanted to consume him. And yet he stepped into that darkness, and let the beasts have him. Resigned to his fate.
“Heaven. Heaven. Heaven!”
He was shaken from his sleep by her soft voice. Her eyes , blue as anything he had ever seen. He thought they were wonderful.
“Stephanie...” he murmured.
“Guess what?”
“Hmm?”
“You overslept.”
“...ah.”
“Aaand, do you remember who told you, several times, that if you took that medicine, you’d oversleep?”
“My dear Stephanie.”
“Right once again.  Luckily for you, I am such a dutiful wife I rushed here, all the way from my own home, to wake you up. Who knows how long you would’ve been asleep?”
“I’m...I’m quite lucky, aren’t I?” He said as he sat up in bed.
She smiled as he did, placing two fingers on his forehead, pushing his head back slightly.
“If you don’t hurry, Madame Amisse will have your hide.”
“No..." He rose and stretched. “She’ll just stare at me for a few minutes. A punishment far more harsh.”
“I can imagine. Where are your robes?”
“In my meditation chamber.”
“I’ll get them for you.”
“I can ge-”
“Sit, Heaven. Eat the food I made for you.” She gestured to the box she placed on the bed as she left his bedroom. But he wasn’t hungry.
“Wait..” called Stephanie from the chamber. “Are you supposed to wear the grey one...or the black one?”
“The grey one.” said Heaven.
“Ok...” said Stephanie, interrupting his thoughts. “Let’s get this thing on you.”
They stared at each other for a moment.
“Take your pants off.” Stephanie instructed.
“Oh.”
“Heaven.”
“Yes?”
“Are you embarrassed?”
“Well. Not exactly.”
“We’re going to be joined as one within a year. Seeing each other naked will be a common occurance.”
“I know.”
“So take your pants off.”
“A-alright.”
Despite the awkwardness he felt, he still appreciated the moment. She had always treated him well, even when they were children. He was thankful for her.
“Mhm...it looks good on you. I think. Did I do it right?”
“You did fine. Thank you.”
She smiled.
“Did you eat?”
“I’m not hungry.”
“Don’t be an idiot. Eat.”
“Yes dear.”

He rushed to the shrine and still found himself tardy. Seer Amisse would show no mercy. He stood in front of her chamber door, taking a moment to strengthen his resolve. But the door slid open, and inside the chamber sat Amisse, stirring her cup of tea.
“Surely your intent was not to make me wait even longer?” she asked him.
“No, Madame, not at all.”
“Then sit.”
He took a seat in front of her as the door closed behind him. He expected a lecture, but she merely sipped from her tea.
“Are you wondering why I have not reprimanded you yet?” she asked him.
“Uh...perhaps, Madame.”
“I find it difficult to be angry with you in the face of such a grand occasion.”
“I..beg your pardon?”
“Soon you will embark on your first pilgrimage.”
“Already?” he said, his voice a mix of shock and jubilation he could barely contain.
“I have spoken to the elder, and to my fellow seers, and we have all concluded that your progress has been great, even greater then what I initially thought it would be. There is no need to push this further out. In order for your growth to continue, you will need to become an underseer.”
“Thank you, Madame. I will not let you down.”
Her gaze was as serene as it always what. He found it almost impossible to know how she was truly feeling at any moment. But he could sense the smallest trace of approval in her.
“What is your purpose, Heaven?” She asked him abruptly.
He thought for a moment.
“To serve and protect my people.”
Seer Amisse nodded as she sipped her tea.
“I have heard many say such a thing in my time, but rarely do they truly mean it. Your dedication to the covenant tells me you lie among esteemed company. How long have you been my apprentice?”
“Um...seven years.”
“Ah...the passage of time eludes me...I must be getting old. It seems just moments ago you were a mere child, wise beyond your ten years, but still naive, still ignorant. You have grown well.”
“Thank you, Madame."
His expression was solemn, though on the inside there was a burst of exhilaration that threatened to make him lightheaded.
She sipped her tea. “Today, you will meditate alone and prepare for your pilgrimage. Go with the blessings of the pure god.”
“Yes Madame.”

“You ruin. Everything.”
“It’s not as bad as it looks, seriously.”
“No, it’s worse then what it looks, because I have to clean it up.”
Kelethe shrugged.
“Well, just..eh...consider it...payback.”
“For?”
Kelethe shrugged again.
“Something that’ll happen in the future.”
Whenever he came to Heaven’s home to borrow something, everything was thrown out of wack, the balance and rightful order of his room. The process to restore his inner sanctum back to what it was was arduous.
“At least help me put these books back in place.”
“Sure, sure.”
“Alphabetical order.” said Heaven as Kelethe stuffed books in the shelf randomly.
“I mean, as long as they’re on the shel-”
“Alphabetical order.”
Kelethe shook his head, playfully exasperated.
There was silence as Heaven organized his things.
“Kelethe.”
“Hmm?”
“What was your first pilgrimage like?”
“Oh.”
 “Oh?”
Kelethe scratched his head. The book he held in his hand was emblazoned with the title, “The Roaming Beast.”. He cracked it open and flipped through the pages.
“It wasn’t noteworthy in anyway..except for one moment, when we prayed at the temple.”. He stopped turning pages, his finger held under a line of text that caused his brow to furrow.  “‘The beast knows no master, respects no law, and holds no mercy. If you find yourself in the presence of the beast, you would do well to pray, for the end is near.’ Do you remember Ylia?”
“Um...oh yes, she was in the same class as you. But she stayed with the Elissin seers, right?”
Kelethe‘s gaze went past Heaven as he reminisced.
“...yeah. We both took our pilgrimage together, along with Hisai. We flew to Un’eliss, took a hike through the mountains, which were just...beautiful. You’d like it, I’m sure. Hisai slipped and fell into a river. That was third time I’ve ever seen his face."
”Only three times?” Heaven asked.
”Yep. Strange man.”
”He really does keep that turban on all the time...”
“You’d think there’s something wrong with his face, but he looks totally normal..but anyway.
We reached the temple after three days, and it was sort of shabby, especially when you compare it ours or the scenery...but that’s besides the point. The Elissin seers were pretty nice, though, very inviting. I didn’t know they’re were strictly female...so yeah...that was...nice.”
He started to chuckle, then stifled his laughter. But through his smile Heaven could see something was troubling Kelethe.
“After a while we were taken into their inner sanctum. Honestly, it was the size of a small village, just a massive space. And in the center, a statue of the pure god. The second I stepped into the inner sanctum, I could feel the spirits all around me. But when I knelt in front of that statue...I felt like I was being crushed. It took everything in me just to keep consciousness. Even with all that, Ylia was still doing worse. I’ve never seen someone sit so still yet sweat so hard. Then she started shaking, screaming like she was on fire or something...I shouldn’t be telling you about this-”
“No, please continue.” said Heaven intently.
“This entire thing...the seer’s path...it’s a lot harder then what people take it for. We’re not just sitting around in candle lit rooms lighting incense and and chanting nonsense. There’s a constant battle going on, a battle of the mind, of the spirit..Ylia lost that battle. Something...took her and turned her into a servant of the gods. And she just went berserk..hell, if it wasn’t for Hisai, I’d be dead right now. The Elissin pacified her, but they lost so many seers in the process. Ylia’s soul was totally consumed...”
He placed the book on the shelf in it’s proper place. He sighed, smirking as he shook his head.
“What am I doing...casting a shadow on the first step you’ll take...”
“It’s fine.” Heaven assured him. “It’s just that...I understand the nature of the seer, but it’s almost strange that it happened to someone so..close.”
“Just be on your guard.” said Kelethe. “That’s all the advice I can give you.” He glanced at the clock and stretched, yawning loudly.
“Midday and I’m already depressing myself. I’m gonna head out to the field, find a girl to flirt with or something. See you around.”
As soon as Kelethe closed the door behind him, Heaven gazed down at the books strewn about the floor.
“He skipped out on me. “
As he silently fumed, he noticed the small orb on his nightstand glow. Someone was contacting him.

“Ah, you came. Good.” said Dr.Wentein. Heaven glanced through the door into the classroom, at the students, most of which were his age, honing their psyche. “To be honest, I’d hate to bother you, what with you preparing for your pilgrimage and all, but we’re short an assistant today.”
“It’s no trouble, Dr.” said Heaven.
Dr. Wenstein smiled before gesturing to a student sitting in the back, casting an intense gaze onto the cube sitting in front of her.
“Dai has been having great difficulty with telekinesis. If you could be so kind as to give her some tips.”
Heaven approached her, and it only took a few seconds for him to realize that all her focus was on the cube. Everything around her was blocked out. He sat besides her, trying not to startle her. Despite her focus, he couldn’t feel any projection from her mind.
“Has it moved at all?” Heaven asked her. She didn’t respond. “I guess not. What methods are you using?” They sat in silence. “Miss? Are you...”
“Ssshhh.”
“Oh.”
“This is the moment.”
Her expression turned fiery as her eyes widened and her brow furrowed. And with a cry she unleashed all her power and focused it onto the cube.
“Maybe this really is it!” said Heaven, unable to avoid being caught up in the moment.
Nothing happened, the cube completely still as the entire class turned to look at them.
“Oh..sorry...false a-false alarm.” said Heaven with a forced chuckle. Dai merely hammered floor with her fist.
“These cubes are cursed!” she declared. “Cursed!”
“They can’t be cursed.” said Heaven. He glanced over at another student levitating his own cube. His pull was weak, but the cube floated, bobbing up and down as if it were floating in water. “If he can do it, surely you can.”
“Not true.” she said meekly. “So long as they give me these cursed cubes, I will never pass my courses.”
“I’m telling you, the cubes aren’t cursed. Look.”
Heaven held out a hand, and the cube flew onto his palm. He let it float, his control perfect as the cube remained still.
“Ah!” said Dai. ”You didn‘t even look at it!”
“These cubes are perfectly fine,” Heaven assured her. “The problem lies within you.”
“...how do you figure.”
“You’re not projecting properly.”
“What’s wrong with my projection technique?!”
“You don’t have to be so loud....what is your projection technique anyway?”
“Um...I force my will into the object and then....make it do what I want it to. In theory.”
“Ah. Perhaps it’s time for a new theory?”
Dai groaned in exasperation.
“Alright then, smart one, what’s your theory?”
Heaven closed his eyes.
“I...picture...an aura that surrounds my body. It’s much larger then my body, and much stronger. And whatever my mind tells it to touch, sense, affect...it can do it, without fail.”
“Does it have a name?”
“Hmm?”
“Does it have a name?”
“I’ve...never considered naming my aura.”
“Well, you should.” said Dai as she rubbed her nose. “To make it more important.”
“I’ll...I’ll keep that in mind.”
Dai rubbed her chin as if she were an old man.
“So. In order to make the cursed cube move, I must imagine an aura that’s larger then my body and does stuff?”
“Not necessarily. It can be whatever you want it to be, as long as it helps you project your mind properly.”
“Ah. Well, my method will be a rabbit.”
“I don’t follow.”
“A rabbit that helps me.” she groaned in the face of Heaven’s lack of understanding. “I’ll demonstrate for you.”
She refocused on the cube, with twice the conviction. Heaven could feel her mind wrapping around the cube. Her influence was there. She only needed to execute. And suddenly he was on edge. She could do it.
“Lord Eddington, get the cube!”
The cube budged slightly in her direction. The class room turned towards them one again.
“Yes...” said Heaven as he forced yet another chuckle, this time accompanied by tepid applause. “Good progress we’re making, good progress indeed....”.

“...your cultivating technique is unmatched.” said Stephanie in adulation.
“Yes.” said Heaven with a nod.
“There is not a single vivarium on this flying garden of Des'neme that can compare to yours. Your dominance...is absolute.”
They stood in silence for a moment before bursting into laughter.
“I...I can’t..” said Stephanie as her laughter slowed.
“You started it.” said Heaven.
“It was an imitation of you.” said Stephanie. “This garden really is beautiful, though. And these roses..”
She approached the bush, the the hardened petals gleaming in the sunlight.
“I haven’t seen crystal roses this perfect since my mother kept them in our old garden. It’s hard to imagine something like this just...exists naturally in the world.”
“They’re worth all the hassle it takes to raise them. Meditating here is quite wonderful.”
“So...” said Stephanie as she approached him slowly. “What’s your secret?”
“...hmm?”
“Your secret. Mother always said that every cultivator has his or her own method. What’s yours?”
Heaven looked into the sky and nodded, picking a few berries from a bush.
“There must be a connection between the cultivator and his vivarium. He must feel the connection....within his soul. Only then will his vivarium be lush, breath taking, a point of envy for all others”
Stephanie nodded.
“So...what’s your secret?”
“Mmmm.”
“...you aren’t going to tell me, are you?”
He ate berries and sighed.
“No.”
“So cold.”
Stephanie sat under the golden oak tree, her eyes closed.. Heaven’s gaze lingered on her form for a moment longer then he felt he should have. He looked away as she opened her eyes, but she still caught him. She laughed and he blushed.
“When do you leave?” she asked him.
“Next week. Des’feia will be pretty cold.”
“Hopefully they won’t make you walk through all that snow..that would suck.”
“No, it’s a part of the pilgrimage. These physical burdens...they’re insignificant in the face of the spiritual and mental burdens we must bear.”
Stephanie smiled, though she held a slight hint of fear.
“I just don’t want you hurt.”
“I’ll be fine.”
“You say that but...Des’feia is dangerous. Great wolves will be everywhere. And those yeti-”
“Stephanie, it’ll be fine.”
“Sorry. I’m just..” She chuckled. “I forget you’re tougher then you look.”
“How..how do I look?”
“Very...delicate.”
“I feel slightly insulted.”
“Don’t be. It’s really a compliment. I like you like that.”
“...I’ve always thought I was quite manly. I suppose I could do with a bit more muscle, though.”
She laughed again, her joy causing Heaven to laugh as well. She placed a hand on his cheek.
“Don’t change...” she whispered. He nodded. There was an exuberance he felt in her presence that was unique, even powerful. Her smile told him she felt the same, and that excited him.

in your sleep you can hear the spirits call out to you they simply cannot wait till you awaken so that they may run rampant across the earth and reduce everything to dust and ash. When the end comes we will have so much fun.

The grandeur of the ceremony was greater then Heaven remembered it being. Perhaps it was the perspective he took on, staring down into the crowd as apposed to staring up at the pilgrims. He felt a bit emotional.
“And on this day, we will see our children off, in hopes that they return enlightened, prepared to help our society grow and prosper, as the seers before them did.”
The Elder gave his speech, the same speech he always gave. It always dragged on too long. Heaven glanced at his fellow pilgrims, one on each side of him. The one to his left he was familiar with, Hiel, but the one on his left he had only seen once in person, Perisi. The apprentice seers rarely interacted.
“We must remember, as a people, to give, freely, to the shrine, so that we may...prosper, and grow as a society.”
He scanned the crowd. In the front row, the master seers stood, Amisse among them. The ones who ascended to the highest echelon.  He was anxious to join their ranks.
“And in the end, when we are all dust as we originally were, our spirits will be able to look down up our gardens and say, what good work we did. Our society has grown, and our ancestors will prosper because of it.”
And in in the crowd behind stood the underseers, their beaming expressions sharply contrasting the cold demeanor of the master seers, though when one of the masters turned their head, the underseers quickly dropped their smiles. But the sight of Stephanie, tears welling up in her eyes as she looked on, smiling, struck him the hardest. He wondered what it would be like, spending so much time away from her.
“You look troubled, despite the occasion.” said the Elder as he approached Heaven, laying a hand on his shoulder.
“Not at all, sir.” said Heaven as he smiled slightly.
“Good, good.”
The Elder turned back to the crowd, and nodded to the masters, prompting the smallest in the group, whose beard nearly scrapped the floor, to step forward.
“There is no need for my message to be prolonged,” he said. “For the blessing of the pure god is with you. Steel your heart from evil. Stay true to your covenant. Be mindful of your hosts. And most importantly, be alert. The wilds of Des’feia are not to be triffled with.”
The Elder nodded in approval.
“Ah. Well, let us sing the song of hosts!”
Heaven groaned in unison with Hiel and Perisi.

Part one of the thing is done

Now time for edits. I will post it in a day or so.

Sometimes it feels as if my thoughts serve only to ruin me.

Friday, July 1, 2011

I'm assuming right now that the sensation of creating something is much more pleasurable then having created something, in that creating implies that you're in the moment, mind whirring endlessly as you put the figurative(or literal in some cases)puzzle together, a puzzle that is most entertaining as the pieces are ones that you create yourself. The rush of being in the moment is greater then the rush of postcreation. I assume because I've never finished something, but being on the precipice of being done(or at the least a quarter of the way done), I thought this was worth musing on. Whatever.
Exact recreation of the last fight I had. Except for the speech, I just killed the fucker.

What I've been working on.

i have no time no life my existence is nothing i am merely a dream i dwell in your head and feast on your anxiety and when you feel joy i am enraged a wretch like you should never feel joy only pain lay down and die lay down and die

He never saw his dreams. He wondered if this was the result of injury, perhaps he hit his head against something and knocked something loose in his brain. Or if he were cursed. An Akero who could not dream was a liability. He didn’t want to let his people down.
“What did you see, Heaven?” asked the Headmaster.
“I...”
And yet he could do nothing but let them down, again and again.
“No-nothing.”
Headmaster’s expression was was always locked into a frigid gaze, and his eyes pierced his psyche and paralyzed his senses.
“Your mind is dull, Heaven. You lack the joy, the imagination, the love that it takes to be a seer. You have talent but...talent alone will take you nowhere.”
Headmaster left him staring at his bended knees, his heart pounding and heavy. He only wanted to do well, to do right by his people. They needed him. He gazed around and saw his peers, eyes closed as they laid on their own oval platform. Behind their eyelids they dreamed vividly, picturing worlds foreign to him, worlds he would never see.

“Heaven. Heaven. Heaven!”
He was shaken from his stupor by her soft voice, and he turned away from the cliff and gazed into her eyes, blue as anything he had ever seen. He thought they were wonderful.
“Stephanie...you shouldn’t be around me.” he murmured.
“Why not? We’re friends, right?”
He turned away from her.
“Heaven? Don’t be like that.” She reached out and grabbed his wrist and he blushed suddenly. “What’s wrong with you?”
“W-well..I’m just...I’m not..you shouldn’t hang around someone like me. Someone’s whose no good, you know? There are better people to talk to. You can talk to them about your dreams.”
Stephanie sighed, shook her head and looked into the sky fettered with clumped clouds.
“You’ve been listening to Headmaster. I don’t know why. He’s just jealous of what you can do.”
“That’s nonsense, I don’t do an-”
“Stop it!”
Her expression made him uncomfortable. He didn’t want to annoy her.
“You’re so talented. You do everything perfectly...it’s like you were born to be a seer. The rest of us...we’re so jealous," she said as her expression softened. “The Headmaster talks about how you can’t dream. Well, dreaming isn’t everything. They’re only visions. We need people like you to act on them.”
She touched her shoulder and smiled. He didn’t blush, the pit of his stomach merely burned and twisted.
“You’re too kind to me...Stephanie.”
He smiled even though he knew her words were empty. To dream was to exist.
“Come on,” she said. “The lunch room is serving double layered chocolate cake.”
His eyes light up at the thought of eating lunch with her.

Two, three days, if not less.

wow

Look at all the new stuff I posted, look at all the scrolling you have to do to get to the bottom of the page. The only problem I have with all this new content is that its actually old content. Hopefully I'll finish this new thingy up soon.
Not from my old blog, but from a forum I used to frequent frequently like a year ago, the forum being an offshoot of a forum I used to frequent even more frequently that I inadvertently dismantled by being a cockpiece.

But enough of that haha were having fun

Third best thing I've written, was supposed to be a bit in this project some friends and I were working on, basically we all took on different characters that all lived in the same city, the stories would interweave and eventually converge at the end in some sort of apocalyptic supermeltdown. It never panned out because we were all lazy shits. Read.

Lioden's "government" was known as the Veil. A force that acted instantaneously, without warning, without mercy or remorse. The mention of the Veil inspired unfounded fear, the way children fear the monster under the bed. Only the Veil was not fiction.
There was a time where the Veil wasn't needed, a time when people respected each other, where the orgies were consensual, and the amorality that hanged heavily in the air inspired exuberance. Things change.

Leiuix was compelled to handle this incident himself. A man acting out, disturbing the peace. Hyped up on Magik. Protocol was to pacify him, using high intensity static pulses generated from a Haer Pistol, clean up the immediate area, then take the incapacitated offender to HQ for interrogation and eventually reprogramming.
None of that was happening tonight. Leiuix was in the mood for a kill.

"Give me a kiss!" he demanded as he pulled a woman towards him as she struggled. His suit was stained with alcohol, his breath reeking of it as well. His eyes were glazed over. He was in a magik induced haze. He smiled.
"You're so fucking hot..." he breathed.
"Get off of me!" she screeched.
"No..I need that heat..I need your body...come here you fucking whore!"
He drew her near enough to kiss her. He leaned in, lips puckered as she bucked backwards, clasping her right hand over his face. There was a low buzzing before he was forced to the ground, falling on his back. She turned to run.
"Goddamned bitch!" he yelled as he scrambled to his feet. There was a brick nearby. He didn't hesitate as he grabbed it and threw it at the back of her head. The thud was dull, low. The blood started spurting from her head immediately as she crumpled to the pavement. He stumbled towards her as she convulsed.
"Now I've got you," he said in a whisper as he turned her over. Her eyes were full of fear.
"You look beautiful."
He started ripping her clothes off, his eyes becoming crazed. He was going to ravage her as she slowly died.

Leiuix watched this happen. The act of rape didn't thrill him, but violence did. Unfiltered despondency. The tragic side of humanity that his parents tried so diligently to shield him from. He took it in. Then he approached him.

"Is this your thing?" he asked the man as he tried to enter the woman. He merely turned his head slowly to gaze at him.
"What?"
"Is this your thing? Is this what you like to do?"
"I'll kill you if you don't get away from me."
Leiuix shrugged. He looked around.
"This place is pretty secluded," he said to himself as the crazed man rose to his feet, the bloody brick in hand.
"I warned you." he said in a growl. He raised the brick, preparing to smash Leiuix's head in. Leiuix merely put his left index finger to his chest, propelling him several feet. He hit the ground, rolling for a few feet before stopping. His left leg was broken, as was his left hand. Leiuix smiled as he screamed in pain.
"How does it feel?" said Leiuix as he slowly walked towards him, stepping over the woman. "The pain is intoxicating, no?"
The crazed man tried to sit up, using his right hand to prop himself up.
"What are you!? Fucking..fucking freak! You're one of those freaks!"
"Ironic!" shouted Leiuix as he outstretched an arm and made a fist, causing the man to suddenly rise into the air. He screamed loudly as his body became rigid.
"Keep screaming!" Leiuix shouted. "Help me etch this moment into my mind!"
"Stop it! Oh god, please! Please stop!"
"There is no god, fool. Only Leiuix."
He released his fist. Electricity began coursing through the crazed man's body. He began to fry. He burst into flame. Leiuix smiled as wide as he could before letting his arm fall to his waist. The crazed man exploded, charred flesh flying everywhere. A chunk smacked Leiuix in the face.
"What a rush!" he shouted as he outstretched to the sky. He looked down. Blood was pooled around his boots. He turned and looked down at the woman. She was looking at him, her eyes begging him to help. Leiuix chuckled.
"Death is the next frontier," he said as he stepped over her again. "Embrace it."
Lioden's greatest defender, a god to lesser men.
This was actually supposed to be like, a weekly series that never panned out because I am a lazy shit. I might kick it back into overdrive though. I actually rewrote this and made it better so.

Episode 1
The Fire

She watched him as he watched himself in the mirror, adjusting his suit jacket. She sat up on her knees on the bed.
"I wish you'd let me in."

"Can't. Way too dangerous, 'specially for someone like you."
"Like me? What's that supposed to mean?"
"You scare too easily. Something like this requires a cool head. You don't have that quality."
"I'm more then capable of handling pressure! As a matter of fact, I work better with pressure!"
"Cut it out, Mya, Not in the mood to argue."
"Well then let me in!"
"Just. Stop."

She sighed, and flopped onto her back as he began to work on his tie.
"You get to have aaaall the fun."
"This isn't fun. It's business."
"It sounds fun to me."
"It's fun until bullets start flying by your head. Or something tries to decapitate you with it's claws or something."
He finished his tie knot.
"Don't answer the phone, unless it's me."
"I know."
"This one shouldn't take so long. Not as long as last time."
She came up behind him, pressing herself against her back as she wrapped her arms around his waist.
"Promise?"
"No promises. But an educated guess."
"Hmm. Good enough."
She kissed his cheek before letting him go and returning to the bed.
"Don't get hurt this time either."
He felt the thin scar that ran inbetween his right eye and his nose down to the right corner of his check.
"I won't."
He left the apartment quietly and quickly, and entered the back seat of the black towncar waiting out front for him. The driver laughed.
"Back at it again, huh Minus?"
"Unfortunately."
"Hehe. Good to see you postponed your retirement. Thought things were gonna go and get boring around here. A guy with your talents doesn't come around too often."
"Talents..wouldn't go and call it that, personally."
"Hey, a talent's a talent. Even if it is based around destruction."
Their destination wasn't too far. A small house on the end of a quiet street. They pulled into the driveway.
"Well, here's your stop." said the driver. "Got a few more people to pick up, so I can't stay and watch, unfortunately."
"Sad."
"Good luck, though. They say this one is kind of unruly...hehe."
Minus exited the car and walked to the door. He knocked twice. A few seconds later, the door swung open. Standing on the opposite side of him was a woman, wearing a white jumpsuit. She smiled widely.
"There you are! I was worried you weren't coming."
"I did say I'd be here."
"Of course, of course. Shouldn't have doubted your word. But uh, come in, come in."
She ushered him inside, then looked outside to see if anyone was watching. She closed the door behind her.
"Well, I am Patricia, captain of this passageway," said the woman, extending her hand to shake Minus'. "We already know who you are. Our equipment is downstairs. Follow me, if you will."
She lead Minus through a hallway, then through a door, down a flight of stairs.
"I understand this Yokai is deadly." said Minus.
"Well, it is a tad bit more powerful then what we're used to dealing with, so yes, it is more deadly," she said while looking over her shoulder. "And on top of that, it's a breed that we haven't encountered yet. But it shouldn't be anything you can't handle." She said with a smile.
The basement was almost bare, save for a single computer, a projection screen on the wall, and a large, white device that resembled a film projector. Three men scurried around the basement, making sure the equipment was operational.
"Alright, people," said Patricia. "Are we ready?"
"Yes ma'am!" they confirmed. Patricia turned to Minus.
"Alright. The DBD setup should only take a moment. Just try and relax."
She turned her attention to the projector. Minus removed his suit jacket and placed it on the plastic straightback chair leaned up against the wall behind him. As he rolled his shirt sleeve to his elbows, he thought of Mya, crying. He tried to shake the image from his head, but it wouldn't leave. He sighed.
"This has to be the last time." he said to himself.
"Is the DBD ready?" asked one of Patricia's assistants. She gave him the thumbs up. "Alright..activating disruptor program...now!" he double clicked an icon on the computer. The projector began to whir.
"Are you ready, Mr. Minus?" asked Patricia.
"...I suppose so. Let's get this over with."
The  projector emanated light onto the screen. A circular hole began to appear, its edges shimmering. It grew larger and larger, until the entire projector screen showed the parking lot of a convenience store.
"This is where we pinpointed its location," said Patricia as she handed Minus an ear piece. He put it in, and arched his eyebrows.
"I don't see anything." he said.
"Well..we think this one has the power of invisibility."
"Interesting."
Minus made his way to the screen.
"Good luck out there!" said Patricia.
"Yeah..."
He stepped through the screen, into the parking lot. The portal flashed, then disappeared. It was dark, the streets totally empty. Minus looked around.
"Even if it's invisible, I should still be able to feel it's presence..Maybe she was wrong."
A large black van came roaring down the road, quite suddenly. Minus immediately recognized its design.
"A trap.." he muttered to himself.
The van turned into the parking lot, and came to a squealing halt. Men dressed in black body armor with the acronym DDS emblazoned on their chest in large white letters poured out of the back door of the van, all carrying automatic rifles. They quickly surrounded Minus, taking aim.
"Don't move!" yelled a member of the squad. "One twitch and you're dead! Put your hands behind your head, and get on your fucking knees! Now!"
"Can't." replied Minus. "I've got a busy day tomorrow."
"Get down! I won't say it again!"
"You won't have the chance.."
"What?"
Minus closed his eyes.
"Fire."
Bright blue flames began to circle around Minus, originated from an unseen source.
"What the fu..."
"Burn:"
The flames burst out in all directions in massive tendrils, consuming the squad in an azure blaze. There was no chance to retaliate.Minus adjusted his tie. He tapped his ear piece
"-inus, are you th-why didn't you turn your communicator on!?" screeched Patricia into his ear.
"I never turn the communicator on..anyway, there aren't any Yokai here. The DDS guys are getting smarter, it seems. They must have sent out some energy signals similar to Yokai energy to through us off."
"Yes, it would seem as such. It's shame they're so hostile towards us. We're only trying to help.."
"Hmm. Help."
"What?"
"Nothing. I'm ready to come back now."
"Alright, we'll reopen the portal. Stand bye."
The portal became visible, almost immediately.
"Technology's getting better..finally.." muttered Minus. Immediately after he spoke, the portal disappeared.
"Patricia.." said Minus.
"Hold on, hold on...something's...somethings not right here. Let me...check the DBD..what's wrong wi-the frequency? Minus, I think there's something wrong on your side. Someone's interfering with-ur frequ-losing connecti-Minus, you're in danger! Get out of-"
The communicator went dead.
"Fuck." signed Minus, rage building inside of him. "This cannot be happening now. Not now. Dammit!"
He punched the pole of the stop sign next to him. It bent inwards, the sign now facing the ground.
The communicator caught a signal.
"Huh? Patricia? What's goin-"
"Minus?" said a distorted voice. "Is this the Instrument known as Minus? Please answer."
"Ye-yes. Who the hell are you?"
"Call me Sirus. In thirty seconds, the area you're standing in will soon be flooded with the alien life forms you and your ilk refer to as 'Yokai'. If you can defeat them all without dying. I will assist you in returning to your dimension."
"What? Cut the bullshit and tell me what's going on!"
"Interesting. You're much more excitable then what you were described as. Anyway, fifteen, seconds, try not to die."
The communicator went dead as otherworldly screams began to ring throughout the neighborhood. Minus clenched his fists.
First best thing I've written, essentially about the cons of drug use.

"Aim for the heart of their world. Prolong our legacy."

So said the creed of the Deathnauts, as they descended upon the foreign world below. Cloaked in dark armor, faces shrouded by monstrous headgear. They depicted themselves as demons, not vagrant men, as they tore through the meager defenses that stood before them. Guns, explosives...what was the point, when one of the Deathnauts number had the strength to rend a man in two with his bare hands? When standard weaponry did naught but lay scratches on their armor?

In hours, they laid waste to an entire city. Fire, rubble, the screams that could only come from the mouths of those stricken by inhumane misfortune...this was the work of devils. And the Deathnauts proudly took that mantle as they took the prize of their spoils. From far above, their mothership lowered from its underside a grey tentacle like appendage. It shot into the surface of the planet, deep into it's core.

"And now, to strip this planet of its life."

The Deathnauts surrounded the tentacle, and each laid a hand on the tentacle. It emanated a deep blue as it began to purr softly. The earth began to rumble, as the fertility was stolen from its soil. It's very soul was being sucked from it. It was a quick process.

"We have taken from them what we ourselves never had. Now they shall suffer. Suffer like our forefathers. All shall suffer."

The tentacle disconnected itself from the earth, and rose back to the mothership. And the Deathnauts rose with it. The planet would soon become inhospitable. But the Deathnauts would live on. The Evangelion would thrive.

"And this next planet, is it just as dangerous?"

He smirked in response to her remark. He, who in the face of danger relished the opportunity to rend foes to pieces, and to embrace death's frostbitten touch, only to draw away triumphantly after each battle. He spoke in confident tones.

"Danger means nothing to us. Only lesser men let danger deter them from battle."

She sighed deeply, her emotions running deeper then bloodlust. She felt more then concern. She wanted to keep him near, close to her, so that he would never be harmed. The battlefield frightened her.

"Promise me that you'll stay."

"Don't say such things."

"Your life...do you ever fear for your life?"

"The life of the Evangelion, and the legacy of my people is greater then my own, my love. My life, if sacrificed to keep the Evangelion alive, is a sacrifice worth making."

Tears began to stream down her face. She was afraid. She felt the fear he could not feel, or would not acknowledge. She drew closer to him.

"Ophilio...tell me that you'll stay."

"The battlefield calls. Wait for me here. I shall return shortly."

He rose from the bed, from her grasp, and left the room. She collapsed onto the bed, sobbing deeply. Her love, her heart, a piece of her that, once lost, could never been replaced, gone, not certain to return. She could only pray, as she always did.

Ophilio marched to the dispatch room, flanked by his subordinates. Their armor, dull grey and unspectacular in form, paled greatly in comparison to his crimson armor, adorned with spikes along the spine, the helmet he carried under his right arm fashioned in the shape of a dragon's head.

As he entered the room, he was saluted by the men who stood waiting to be sent down to the planet below. He walked to the head of the room, and turned to face them.

"At ease."

The atmosphere was tense. Much of the men in the room were new trainees, virgins to the art of pillaging and destruction. Ophilio was calm, cool.

"The last planet we assailed yielded less Gaius then we assumed it would. As such, we will be heading down to the planet below, to make sure our reserves are full before we make a trip into the dimensional spectrum. Unfortunately, most of our seasoned hunters are taking a well earned rest. Therefore, you all will accompany me on this trip."

He scanned the room. Though they were all masked, he could tell through their body language that they were not ready.

"Whatever fears you have that may ail you, suppress them. You are accompanying me. Whatever may lay dormant on this planet, shall fall before me."

He donned his helmet.

"Let us be off."

The room went dark, before it began to glow a dark red. There was a loud whirring of machinery, before they all disappeared, transported to the planet below.

In Ophilio's mind, there was only the Evangelion. The only thing he had ever called a home. The majestic craft, it's origins unknown, was as bound to his people as they were to it. One could not exist without the other. As long as the Deathnauts protected the Evangelion, it would give them powers unimaginable, the ability to strike down whatever came their way.

War was their profession.

They crashed down to the planet's surface, causing chaos as the climbed out of the deep crater they created. Ophilio, seeing the fear on their faces, smiled. They resembled him, human life forms. But they did not share his bloodline, or his burden. They lived peacefully, without worry or fear of imminent danger. They would learn that fear today.

Ophilio raised his right arm, opening his hand as a blade materialized from thin air into his grasp.

"Men! Spread out and destroy!" he commanded.

Without warning, the troop began to attack indiscriminately, striking at whatever was closest to them. There was a inhuman rage in their attacks, the nervousness they exhibited in the dispatch room all but gone as they realized that they were the ones in control. As they attacked citizens, Ophilio opted for a bigger target, outstretching his left arm.
He began gathering a dark energy into his hand, one that crackled like electricity. He pointed the energy at the largest building in sight, and fired it in the form of a large ball, at the middle section of the building. On contact, the energy created a massive explosion, reducing much of it to rubble that rained into the streets below. He began to fire energy indiscriminately, easily reducing the immediate area to smoldering debris. His troop continued to chase down humans, spreading throughout the city. The screams began to annoy Ophilio.

"Another planet with no warriors...this is beginning to grow tedious," he said before picking up chatter from his troop through his helmet.

"Commander Ophilio, something's going on!"

"What? Speak clearly, and in terms not so ambiguous."

"Sir, something-no, someone is attacking us! Someo-Oh god, it's the Uriquia! They've tracked us!"

"Impossible..there's no we could've been tracked, the Evangelion emits no dissonance. Are you certain?"

"Yes! The strange movements, the speed, the power! It's just like they told us in the Hole! It's them! We're doomed!"

"Dammit! Hold your position, I'll be there shortl-"

"Not so fast, big boy." said a voice softly before Ophilio was sent crashing to the ground. He tried to get up, but was knocked upwards before being sent crashing though buildings. He skidded the ground for several feet before stopping. He rolled over, onto his back, and saw nothing. But as he tried to get up, a female, dressed in a form fitting black jumpsuit, appeared on top of him.

"You're not easy to find," she said, staring into his helmet. "Ophilio the Blackheart."

"I advise you get away from me, and leave this planet, quickly," he said, barely stiflying his anger.

"Oh? Trying to scare me? Funny, seeing as you're the one on his back."

"I gave you fair warning. Godblade!"

The earth around them began to rumble as Ophilio began to charge himself with excessive amounts of energy.

"What's this?" said the woman.

Above her head, a massive energy sword began to form. Without warning, it slashed at her, the blow aimed for her torso, but she disappeared, reappearing instantaneously a few feet away. Ophilio immediately jumped to his feet.

"You think you can kill me with shit like that?" she said with a smirk. "Crazy. They must've never taught you anything about Uriquia."

"I don't need lessons to crush an insect!" yelled Ophilio as he charged forward, his sword poised to attack along with the massive blade he conjured.

A great battle was about to commence, and a few feet away, a small boy smiled.

"He's gonna die."

"How did my father fight these beings.." thought Ophilio as he moved into to attack. "What is their weakness.."

He swung his blade downward, missing her as she backflipped several feet into the air, but hit the ground with such power that it crack, driving forth a great deal of dark energy, causing his enemy to lose her bearings mid air. As she faltered, the Godblade swung for her. But she was ready, as stretched her body out, turning in the air, and blocked the attack with a kick imbued with a blue colored energy, contrasting Ophilio's black energy. She landed on her feet, and teleported behind Ophilio, attempting to land an aerial spinning back kick. He caught the kick with his left hand, grabbing her shin and flailing her to the ground, but she teleported from his hands, appearing in front of him, a few feet away. Ophilio fired off an energy blast, one that she dodged with ease. He tried to catch her off guard, quickly coming towards her with a swing of his sword, but she dodged that attack as well, landing a punch to his head in retaliation. Before he could land an attack of his own, she teleported away from him once more.

"You're really slow," she said with a smirk. "How the hell did you manage to get that reputation with swordplay that clumsy?"

"Your words ring hollow, wench. My next swing will earn my trophy wall your head."

"You're too arrogant for your own good. I'll fix that, though."

Her brown eyes suddenly began to glow a deep emerald green. As Ophilio tried to move forward, he felt something wrap around him, something intangible. It constricted his movements, until he wasn't able to move at all.

"What...is this?" he struggled to say.

"Your imminent doom," she said as she slowly walked towards him. "I'm gonna sever your soul from your body."

Who Exists

The second best thing I've ever written.

Who exists.

Proclamation

"There was a time, before I understood what it meant to be...real, to be authentic, I was controlled. Ok. I was a robot. They took me, they installed some information in my head, and there, I was their money machine. And I didn't know any better when it started out. Because I was five. I was five. I'm eighteen now. I just want a little control back. I want to actually have some sort of control over what happens in my life. I mean, that's pathetic, that I have to go to court and fight for control of my life. What does that mean? What does it mean when you can't control who you are and what you do?"
Andy's lawyer leaned forward and smiled.
"It means, we go to war. We break some knees, we bust some balls, we make some people unhappy. But we will get your rights. We will win the war. And all the battles that make the war up."
He slid some papers to Andy.
"Now, what I want you to do, is go through that. Read up. Understand your enemy."
Andy sighed. He tugged at his shirt collar.
"I don't wanna think of Dan as an enemy. I mean..he brought me up and everything. I'd like to think of this as a disagreement more then anything."
His lawyer laughed.
"No! No, no, no, no, no! That, my friend, is the wrong state of mind. The longer you dwell on your prior relationships, the harder its gonna be to pull away. And you know it. Now, in order to win this, we will have to do things that may not be...pleasing, aesthetically, to people. But lets face it. If we have to choose between getting you a new contract, and pleasing the people, which of these desires are we going to go with?"
Andy nodded.
"So how much time do you think this will take?"
The lawyer shrugged.
"Could take a month or two, could take over a year. Depends on who they get and what kinda defense they put up. We'll have to sit back, survey, get a good understanding of the playing field, and really, just prepare for what promises to be an exciting match up. But mark my words. We will get your contract the way you want it. Or I'm not the best damn lawyer in town."
He leaned back in his chair. A very confident man. Andy nodded again.

"So one day, the little prick calls me up, and he tells me he want to be in a serious film. I laugh, because, I mean, what the fuck does this kid know about serious acting? His career highlight was playing a fucking man child who had imaginary friends! I mean, really. What gets into these kid's heads these days?"
Brian shrugged.
"On one hand, yeah, he doesn't have a huge amount of film experience, but you gotta hand it to the kids, he took a show that would have been a two, maybe four season fad and turned it into a 13 year cashcow. He's always had acting talent, always."
Dan shook his head, took another pull from his cigarette.
"Yeah, let you tell it...I was the key to his success. I kept that show on for all those years! It was me! If it wasn't for me, shit, he'd be some has been child star. He'd be on one of those 'where are they now' shows! I'm tired of schmucks like you spewing that crap!"
"You callin' me a shmuck Dan?"
"Wait, not like that Br-"
Brian shot out of his seat.
"'Cause I'll kick your fat, greasy ass all over this fucking office! Then we'll see who's a fucking shmuck!"
"Alright, alright. I'm sorry. Calm down."
He sat down. Took a deep breath.
"All I'm saying is, Dan, cut your losses while you can. Set up a contract with him, remain his agent. You take this to court, you'll lose everything. Cut the arrogant shit, cut the delusions of grandeur or what ever the fuck you call it, and be reasonable."
Dan shook his head. Undeterred.
"No. I'm not gonna take this slap in the face. I'm gonna make that bitch cry. He'll be sorry."
Brian sighed. He foresaw Dan's future. Alone and miserable.

Andy was in his mother's kitchen, nursing a glass of milk while she hand mixed cake batter. The silence was heavy.
"So...Andy. You don't think this will end badly, do you?"
He was silent.
"I understand if you don't want to discuss this at the moment, but you can't just push it to the back of your mind."
He thought about it. Swirling the milk with his index finger.
"Maybe I shouldn't. Maybe I should just pack up all my things and run away. Or maybe I should take nothing and just leave. Just walk till I can't walk anymore and drop dead."
She nodded.
"Do you think that will solve your problems?"
"I wouldn't have to worry about people trying to manipulate me or control me. I would be free."
"No, you'd be dead."
"Maybe being dead is better then being controlled."
She sighed. She took the batter and poured it into a cake pan.
"The only thing that's holding you back is your attitude. And you know that."
Andy took a sip of milk. The ice had melted, watering the milk down. It didn't taste right.
"I wish I had never gotten into this. Maybe I could have been normal. Or accepted. Maybe I'd be at some...college somewhere, having fun. I don't even understand what it means to be normal. How....pathetic is that?"
"Baby, you know that's all nonsense. What's gotten into to make you think like this? Maybe you need a girl friend or something."
"But I'm not normal. I'm not even human. I'm a commodity. I'm...just profit...I have no real..footing in reality...I can't...I can't even..."
He began to cry. Streaming tears that embodied his distraught inner psyche. His mother rubbed his back.
"One day, you're gonna get rid of all these demons. And you'll see how beautiful of a person you really are. One day baby...one day..."
They cried together.

Andy's heartbeat mirrored the pulse of the beat that emanated from the speakers around him. He was sitting in the VIP section of some club. He wanted to drown out his pain in the sound. He was too cowardly to use alcohol or drugs. He desired a moment, however transient, of peace amongst the calamity.
His friends, or whatever they were called, were around him. They didn't feel him, or perhaps they did and didn't care. He desired a moment of true connection, perhaps something that laid outside of the bounds of his own understanding. He went outside.
Outside was cool, damp, refreshing. Enlightening. A brief whistling of the wind followed by silence. Andy felt....nothing.
"Hey! You're the kid from the Howie & Volley show!"
Andy looked to his left. There was a young girl, smiling. Warmth. She exuded warmth.
"Yeah. That's me. Howie."
"Wow! I love that show! I've watched it my entire life, man!"
"Your...entire life?"
"Yes! I mean, the show just just kept getting better as it went...I mean, it started out as a typical kids show, but as it went on, it just became...so complex. I loved how, in the ending, it was implied that Volley wasn't real, that, somehow, Howie's whole world was just an vivid imagining, and that Howie was just some guy in a mental hospital..I mean, what a mindfuck. All those years and...it was just so good."
"You got that?"
"Yep! It was so subtle though..did I get it right though?"
"Yeah. You did. Not many people do. It felt pointless at the end. It was all just entertainment."
The wind blew past again, stronger now. She was attractive, to him at least. She reminded him of a girl he liked when he was 13. He smiled back.
"I...wish I could be more..significant. I wish I was significant."
She pushed the hair from the front of her face. Her eyes were a bright green.
"Maybe you're not..'significant', to some pretentious prick...but to a lot of people, you are significant. You helped a lot of people grow up. A lot."
They smiled at each other. There was an offer to take up lodging in his apartment. For some strange, inconceivable reason, she made him feel something. And that was more then what anything anyone had to offer to him. Selfish, perhaps.
He had never been with a woman before.

Dan was a large man who worked through brute force and intimidation. He had no scruples.
"I wanna crush him."
He leaned forward, over the desk, till his forehead nearly touched his lawyers.
"How can we crush him?"
"Well, uh, Mr. Johnson, uh, crush is, uh, a...very strong term, is it not? It's uh..it's very sto-"
"I didn't ask how you felt about it. How can I crush him?"
"I...what are you implying by 'crush'?"
"I wanna break his bones, I wanna break his spirit. I want him to be completely fucked when this is over. I want him to be so...depeleted, that he goes insane. Maybe he goes and crawls up into a ball and sucks on his thumb and wishes he never tried to fuck with my share. Little prick." He sat back.
His lawyer nodded. Sweat collected on his brow. His glasses slipped off his noise. He pushed them up.
"Well, sir, it will be very...difficult to enact the decree you have passed down. In all honest, there isn't a....great chance that you will be able to get what you desire."
Dan's gaze was like staring into the mouth of a lion.
"I suggest a compromise. It is at this moment, the best plan of action. We can probably get in most of the demands that you have made, plu-" Dan grabbed the coffee mug that sat infront of him and cracked his lawyer in the head with it.
"You fucking pussy."
Dan left the office, walking with unwarranted swagger and confidence. He retrieved his cell phone from his pocket and dialed a number.
"Hello?"
"Yeah, this is Dan. Where's Brian?"
"Uh, he stepped out for a second. Can I take a message?"
"Yeah. Tell him to stop fucking around and get me a better group of fucking lawyers."
He hung up. Contemplating the end. Would he win? Not conventionally. He had no rights to what he wanted. But that didn't deter him from wanting. How many bones would have to be crushed? It was late afternoon, the sun's embrace giving way to the winter night.

What you need is blood

Another thing from my old blog. This dude gets a blowjob totally

"I would like a strawberry sundae," she said with a smile. The counter boy blushed.
"C-c-coming right up, maam!".
He scurried to the ice cream machine and began to craft her item. He was obviously flustered. Three times, he ruined the sundae. He glanced back to her each time. She just kept on smiling.
He finally made the sundae properly and set it down in front of her.
"Enjoy maam!" he blurted. She giggled.
"Your face is so red...." she read his nametag. "Howard. what's wrong?"
"Nothing maam! Nothing at all!"
She giggled again.
"You're kinda funny."
She picked up her spoon and scooped up a miniscule bit of ice cream. With a seductive flair, she slowly licked the ice cream off the spoon, all while staring into Howard's eyes. He had never been in a situation like this. The closest thing was when Becky Stewart held his hand during the school trip last year. He gulped.
"Can I ask you a question, Howard?"
"Ye-yes maam!"
"Are you a...are you a virgin?"
"Maam?"
"I'm asking you if you've ever done it before. Had sex. Fucked. Yes?"
"No maam, I'm a-a-a Christian!"
"Oh. So you're saving it for marriage?"
"Yes maam!"
She looked genuinely disappointed.
"Aww. Cus I was thinking....maybe we could have some fun later.."
"What...what kinda fun, maam?"
She giggled again. Her sundae was melting, dripping onto the counter top. She rose slowly from her seat and beckoned for Howard to follow her out the door. His hear was pounding. His shift ended at 11:30, but it was still only 9:52. But this was a once in a lifetime chance. Pretty girls don't just come in and offer to have sex with you everyday. He didn't really need this job anyway. He rushed from around the corner and hurried outside.
The cold air chilled him as the the door closed. It was a December night. The sky was bereft of cloud, the full moon glowing in the distance.
She was nowhere to be seen.
Surely she wasn't leading him on.
But then he heard a whisper from behind him. It was faint, but it carried, whistling by his ears like wind. It was her voice.
He rushed to the back of the store. She wasn't there.
Instead, he found two massacred bodies. He recognized one as the store manager.
His first reaction was to throw up. The second was to faint. By the time he fought off both urges, he felt a presence behind him. He breathed deeply.
"Are you still afraid, Howard?" she asked him.
"What did you do?" he asked her.
"Having my fun..."
She bit into his neck and ripped out his esophagus. His blood was a sweet nectar.

(a bit of)Love

From my old blog, a novel idea that I will most certainly finish one day because it is cool

“So you’re still going to Blue Corporation?”
“Yep.”
She tightened the laces on her boots.
“Have you really thought about what you’re doing, though?”
“Nope. No clue.”
He shook his head at her sarcasm.
“There are better ways to get the polymer. Putting your life in danger isn’t nece-”
”But the monks need it.”
”We can get by without it. It‘s a privilege, not a necessity.”
Mali shook her head.
”I‘m going.”
”Do you ever think about anyone but yourself? How would the children feel if you were killed? How would I feel?”
“Sssshhh.”
“What?”
“Can you hear that?”
“Hear what?”
“Just listen!”

He became totally silent, focusing his ears, trying to pick up the faintest noise.
“I..don’t hear anything.”
“I do. It’s the sound...of cowardice.”
He glared.
“Look, shut up, stop pissing yourself. I’ll be back...soon. I think.”
She rose from the edge of the bed, picked up a small pack and slung it over her shoulder. She patted his bald head.
“You should grow your hair back. You look like a young old man.”
He swatted at her hand, hitting air as she pulled away, giggling at him. He followed her out of the shack, watched her walk away into the forest. He cursed her.
“Mali! Mali!”
No answer.
“Don’t get yourself killed!”
He stood there for a moment longer, then turned around, returning to his shack, full of worry and doubt.

She smirked and shook her head at his words. She hated how he worried. It made her nervous, and when she was nervous she hesitated. She sighed.
The path she took would take her through the forest to the steam trains that ran to the eastern cities. She took care to keep her steps quiet. Bandits camped in the area, resting from their campaigns but always on the look out for victims to further bolster their pockets. Mali hunted them when they troubled the monks, but tonight wasn’t the time. She had to move quickly.

She arrived at the train station thirty minutes later. Aside from the workers, the station was nearly deserted. A teenaged boy swept the train deck. He glanced at her, muttered a greeting and continued his task. He reminded her of a boy from the monastery.
She approached the ticket booth. The vendor, a well aged gentlemen whose beard hung down past his chest, was well asleep. She tapped the glass three times. He merely snored loudly. The boy mumbled.
“Hmm?” said Mali.
“You want some tickets?” he said a bit louder.
“Please?”
He grumbled, feeling around in his pockets for a key.
“Hold on.”
He entered the door next to the vendor window and popped the old man on the back of his head.
“What was that for!?” the old man growled.
“Wake the hell up, we got customers and shit..” The boy exited the vendor’s room and continued sweeping the deck.
The old man glanced at Mali, rubbing the back of his head.
“Didn’t have to hit me....how can I help you?”
“One ticket to Bonoe.”
“The city?”
“I..guess so.”
He nodded his head, stroking his beard.
“Nice place. Very nice place. My grandson lives there.”
Mali smiled weakly.
“He’s a nasty little bastard. Like Tom over there.”
“Shut the fuck up.” quipped the boy.
“See what I mean! Horrible!”
“Give her the damn tickets old man!”
He grumbled and glanced at a schedule.
“The next train’ll be here in an hour. Ticket’ll be..eh...five pearls. Yeah, five pearls.”
Mali reached into her pack and retrieved a pouch filled with small shimmering sphere. She paid him and took her ticket.
“Hope you have a nice trip. Train’s been a bit rough these past few days with them uh...what’re those things called Tom?”
“Karoks.”
“Yeah, them! You know about Karoks miss?”
Mali nodded.
“I’ve dealt with them before.”
“Dealt with them? You know how to work a gun ma’am?”
“I don’t use guns.”
The old man raised an eyebrow.
“Now you’re telling me you dealt with Karos and didn’t use a gun? I find that hard to believe.”
Mali shrugged.
“Life is strange.”
She sat at a bench while the old man mumbled to himself. The quiet of night was calming. She found herself rummaging through her pack, looking for an old photo book. There was only one page of pictures, Mali with the orphans the monastery. The picture brought her a sense of joy, the orphans being closest to her heart. They didn’t deserve such a hard life.
“You from Jenka?” Tom asked her.
“Hmm? Oh, yeah.”
“You don’t look like a monk, though.”
“Well, I’m not a monk.”
“...but you’re from the monastery.”
“Ya.”
Tom scratched his chin.
“So normal people just live in monasteries with monks?”
“Jenka has an orphanage. That’s where I grew up.”
“Oooh.  Makes sense I guess.”
“So where are you from?”
He pointed to the north.
“Pointa village?”
He nodded.
“It’s a shit town.” he mumbled.
“It’s not that bad. It’s pleasant.”
“It’s boring. Like livin’ in a..graveyard or somethin’.”
“I think you’re being dramatic.”
He shrugged.
“Livin’ there is different then visitin’ there. But whatever. Why’re you goin’ to Bonoe?”
“Looking for something..special.”
“Specia-”
The sound of the incoming train interrupted Tom’s sentence.
“Huh. Train’s early.”
Mali rose from her seat as the train pulled alongside the station and stretched.
“If you hate Pointa so much, you should probably go to one of the eastern cities.” she said as she approached the conductor, who tipped his hat to Tom.
“But I don’t have any money!” Tom shouted over the roar of the train engine. Mali shrugged.
“That’s never stopped me!” she said with a smile as the train door closed behind her. The train pulled off with a loud whistle, leaving Tom standing in the middle of the deck, comtemplating his future.

The train was empty, save for the crew that operated the train.
“Business’ slow, huh?” she said to the conductor as he approached her. He sighed.
“Those damned karoks. They’re breeding like crazy all of sudden, all throughout the countryside. It’s a mess out here.”
“Weird they keep coming up...I haven’t seen any since the the summer.”
“It’s not this area they’re menacing. A bit northeast from here you’ll their dens. Good thing its nighttime. I don’t think its worth risking going through there during the day anymore...enough of me complaining. Anything I can get you ma’am?”
Mali shook her head.
“Well, just holler if you need anything.”
He tipped his cap and exited the car, headed to the engineer car. Mali tried to relax, slouching in her seat and closing her eyes. Her exterior was calm but her mind was racing. She had never been to a city before, and Bonoe was one of the biggest in the world.
She remembered the stories told to her by the monks about the eastern cities. How they were dens of avarice and lust, how no decent man could stand living in such a place, lest the vile practices of the heathens rub off on him and turn him away from the gods. Mali always rolled her eyes at the monk’s hyperbole, but she could help but wonder what laid in wait for her. She felt herself falling to sleep. She welcomed it.
